Maggie’s Centre | Oldham

The glass tube passing through Maggie’s Oldham creates a prominent architectural intervention, whilst providing views upwards to the sky and garden below. Each of the 11 cylindrically curved panels is 4.5m, totalling an impressive 100 sq.m of glass secured using structurally bonded carrier frames and supported off a carefully trimmed steel structure. The glass element was particularly challenging to achieve uniformity of appearance and consistency of performance in both concave and convex architectural panels.

Delivery of this project was in partnership with dRMM Architects, F Parkinson and Roberts Lombardelli Partnership.
